What age did you begin playing a musical instrument?
At the age of 6 I started playing the piano, and at the age of 13 I began playing the trumpet.

Why did you choose the instrument you play?  I started with the piano, but I thought that the trumpet looked like a lot more fun.

Who is your favorite composer, and favorite work? Why? Beethoven is probably my favorite composer. His music has an incredible sense of subdued angst and emotion while still allowing for beauty and grace. It would be too hard for me to pick just one of his works.

How many years have you been performing with Symphony in C?

The 2008-2009 season will be my first official year with the orchestra, but I have performed as a substitute with the group for a few years now.

What’s your favorite part about playing in Symphony in C?

My favorite part about playing with the orchestra is the fun I have making music with my colleagues.

Where do you aspire to be in ten years? And what do you plan to do?
In ten years I hope to be playing with one of the country’s top orchestras.

What are you currently listening to on your I-pod?
Some of my most played tracks come from Pearl Jam, Elton John, Billy Joel and Queen.

What other interests outside of music do you share, if any?
I enjoy to reading, drawing, listening to music, and drinking coffee.
